What is up everyone!
This week was crazy and went by slow and quick. Tuesday I had the coolest lesson of my mission, Friday I got a new companion that I'm training, and Saturday and Sunday I had a baptism. Pretty fun week if you ask me.
I'll start with my kid. His name is Elder Villegas and he is from Querétaro, México. If you don't know where that is that's okay, I don't either. All I know is President Nelson announced a temple there. It feels weird training a Latino because homie already speaks better than me haha so I'm just trying to help him learn missionary stuff. He's a cool kid though I'm excited to be with him.
Tuesdays lesson was with Diana Luz. She is the wife of Isaí who was baptized the 22nd of April. She was a little hesitant about being baptized until she received an answer. Saturday (April 24) we went to a district conference and took Isaí with us. She told us when he left she was still feeling hesitant about baptism and knew if that is what she was going to do, she needed an answer. She picked up her Book of Mormon and flipped to a random page. She started reading in Ether 4:13-19. As she was telling us the experience she opened up the Book of Mormon and started to read those verses. The whole time she was crying. When she finished she looked up and said, "I received an answer, he was here with me. This book contains truth and this is what my family needs." Legit the coolest lesson I've ever taught! Sunday came and she was baptized by her husband. Coolest thing I've ever been a part of is watching a guy we baptized a week ago baptize his wife.
Saturday was another awesome baptism. Víctor has been visited by missionaries since 2018. His daughter Victoria was baptized that year. Victoria is 18 and plans on serving a mission, her testimony is so solid. So Víctor is the guy who wants to change his life and he did just that. His daughter's reaction was priceless, I have never seen somebody so happy. The Gospel of Jesus Christ truly does bless families.
Being able to participate in the baptisms this week made me super grateful for my family. Being a missionary is hard sometimes and being away from the family for a long time also sucks, but the joy that comes from seeing other families come together is amazing. The church is true and families can be together forever.
Love you all
Elder Wilde
